Another email scam to watch for

By Solairen, 08/01/2017 - 13:32

Here's another one to watch for. The fake SEO renewal scam. We don't know this company, nor do we work with this company, but they send emails (that go to the spam box anyways), all the time about our many domains. Here's their latest email.

Dear [redacted],
You have 1 domain name seo registration service pending.
This solicitation is to inform you that it's time to send in your search engine registration for [domain name, one we've owned for 10 years].
Failure to complete this order by 07/23/2017 [probably added by a macro since this email is probably sent to 10,000's of people] may result in the cancellation of this offer (making it difficult for your customers to locate you, using search engines on the web [the scare tactic]). We do not register or renew domain names. We sell traffic generator software [the kind of software that will actually BLACKLIST our sites from search engines? Quite possibly.]
Act soon! This offer for warrenpa.us will expire on 07/23/2017. Act today! PAY NOW [no.]
Domain Name: [domain name]
Registration Period: 08/06/2017 to 08/06/2018
Price: $67.00
Term: 1 Year

$67.00? Yikes! Yeah, we're not paying. And neither should you. If you have questions, talk to us. We'll be happy to explain how SEO actually works.
